Twenty Princes Street Grill & Smokehouse has a prime city centre position on Edinburgh’s Princes Street. Triple height windows give the first floor restaurant fantastic views over the city centre to the Castle. With oak floors, ornate ceilings and leather banquette seating, the interior is just as eye-catching. In the kitchen, the chefs use lots of Lothian-sourced ingredients to create dishes with flair.

About Amore

Amore Ristorante e Pizzeria is a family-owned Italian in Glasgow’s Merchant City. The Ingram Street restaurant opened in 2008 and has won many loyal clients thanks to its friendly service and authentic Italian dishes. Amore has a spacious, open dining room but also offers booths for those keen on a more intimate meal. The tartan-backed seats are always a talking point. Views into the kitchen allow diners to watch the kitchen brigade in action.

With the first Browns opening in 1973, this family of classic brasseries has had plenty of time to polish its offer. Opened in early 2015, CATCH calls itself a ‘posh modern day neighbourhood fish and chip shop and restaurant’. The Fenwick Road business is on two levels. Taking its name from the hip and fashionable area in which it sits, The Finnieston Bar and Restaurant is a safe haven for seafood lovers. Cosy wooden booths, a few tiled walls, storm lamps, rigging and fishing photos all lend an appropriately nautical theme. An open fire keeps it all cosy. If the decor tips a wink to old sea dogs, the cooking – and the cocktail list – are distinctly more modern and urban. An outside seating area is popular when the weather is behaving.

Opened in the spring of 2016, The Spiritualist is a stylish restaurant and bar in the building that once housed Stirling’s Library. Inspired by the Art Deco movement and hung with vintage portraits, the decor is as sleek as it is contemporary. Named after a legendary 19th century Glasgow glutton, Rab Ha’s is a welcoming bar and restaurant with rooms on Hutcheson Street. Gōst on Bothwell Street promises delectable prime cuts of beef and expertly grilled fish served with quality wine and cocktails. The restaurant is by the same team behind popular dining spots Glaschu and The Duke’s Umbrella.

According to Executive Chef John Molloy, the aim is to serve dishes that feel familiar but are elevated to a fine dining standard. To this end, Gōst is one of the only restaurants in Scotland offering purebred Angus beef steak from ex-dairy cattle retired onto grass pastures. The result is an incredible depth of flavour.
