    Poor food and surroundings

6 of us arrived earlier than booked and the young woman serving accommodated us quickly. The surrounding furniture was shabby in the area we were seated and the table and floors sticky. When the starters arrived the mussels and meatballs were just warm as if they had been lying too long before service and the seafood spaghetti was also on the just warm side. Disappointing as I have eaten there before and had piping hot food.

    Would not recommend

There was 4 of us for lunch. We got the burger and wine deal, wine was fabulous. The staff said the grill was having problems so we waited 30 mins for food, then when food came out the burgers were below average. Not happy with Food or service.

    Last Supper

My Sister and I planned a last lunch at O Sole Mio as we heard it was closing due to demolition of the building. It was quite emotional. I even found myself sharing stories of previous visits over 40 plus years, with some other ladies who lunch there. O Sole Mio has a uniquely friendly and welcoming atmosphere, where you feel very at ease wether you are dining in a group or on your own. This of course is down to the staff and the owner himself who is always ready with a friendly greeting and chat. O Sole Mio is a restaurant which will be sadly missed in our city. Although The Owner did hint at not retiring and asked me to watch the O Sole Mio website (and Facebook page) for news.
