With its tiled walls and stripped floors, BASTA’s fashionably low-key decor keeps the focus firmly on the gourmet pizzas on offer. Authenticity is a core value, with various ingredients being imported directly from Italy, including Polselli flour, Strianese tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil. Otherwise, much of the fresh produce is sourced as close to home as possible, including from the Sandy Road Community Garden around the corner.

Run by the same team as next door’s Villa Toscana Restaurant, Dal Pizzaiolo is a welcoming pizzeria on Argyle Street. We prefer to gaze at the cake selection.
