We're definitely going back. Fantastic food and service.

From the moment we stepped into the bar and ordered our aperitifs we felt like V.I.P.S. We ordered from the market menu, which is great value. The prawn cocktail had just the right amount of sauce for us, not smothered like a lot of other restaurants. Generous portions too. We then had duck, cooked to absolute perfection, and rested perfectly, so it just melted in the mouth. My partner has an allergy to peppers and onions and the waitress made sure there were none on her plate. Also managed to get cranberry sauce for her duck. Onto dessert, nothing on the menu took our fancy, but when my friend mentioned Black Forest Gateau, the waitress went to the kitchen and managed to get us a chocolate cheesecake with added cherries. Fantastic way for us to end our meal. We then decided to have another drink, so the restaurant manager organised that for us, then proceeded to take us to the Champagne Bar and got us a window seat overlooking the station. All in all, this was a fantastic night out, the enthusiastic staff couldn't be more helpful or polite and the restaurant manager, Andy, visited all the tables to ensure all diners needs were catered for fully. Quality service and food like this, is sadly lacking in too many restaurants. Can't wait to go back and be treated like a V.I.P. again.

    Can't wait to go back

What can I say, this is my second visit in a short space of time. This time my husband and I took our son and daughter for a treat on Christmas Eve. Food delicious as always especially for my gluten free meal and service excellent. What more can I say! I would recommend Tempus for a delicious meal. Enjoy!

Modern Scottish city centre restaurant

The Grand Central is one of Glasgow’s landmark hotels and it has welcomed everyone from Churchill to Frank Sinatra. Tempus restaurant is within Grand Central and one of the city centre’s dining hotspots.

Two original Italian, Murano glass chandeliers and large arched windows along with high ceilings and traditional decor create a sumptuous and light venue. The restaurant still, however, manages to be a relaxed venue for a meal.

Locally sourced & elegant menus

Tempus serves modern Scottish food and the kitchen has won awards for its locally sourced, seasonal menus. The menus are elegant, sophisticated and a great showcase for Scottish produce.

The Market Menu changes regularly depending on local suppliers but typical starters could be orange pork tenderloin terrine on warm brioche with fruit chutney or Tempus beetroot salmon gravlax.

Main courses might include pan fried crisp fillet of sea bream with spiced basmati rice, crisp vegetables and Kerala spiced coconut sauce.

After dinner you can relax in the separate bar and choose from a wide range of cocktails, champagne and wine.

Next to Central station

Tempus is in the Grand Central hotel which is in the heart of Glasgow and attached to Central station. St. Enoch and Buchanan Street underground stations are a short walk away. If you are driving, there is an NCP a two minute walk away.

Tempus is ideal for a night out with friends; a pre-theatre meal or a romantic rendezvous.

Tempus Grand Central’s new menu is the perfect winter treat

If the walls in Glasgow’s Grand Central Hotel could talk you would probably want to pull up with a cup of tea and listen for a few hours. The landmark hotel has hosted guests such as JFK, Frank Sinatra, Carey Grant and Winston Churchill, and John Logie Baird transmitted the first ever television signal on the hotel’s fourth floor in 1927.
