We hate to break it to you, but your overnight bag just phoned to tell us that it’s being neglected.
Apparently, it’s sitting in the dark in your wardrobe right now, feeling crumpled and unloved.
We can’t stand to think of it being so upset, which is why we’ve found a super romantic Big Deal for you. How does an overnight stay in a four-poster suite in a lochside hotel sound? Dinner is included, obviously.
We hope that it sounds terrific, because we won’t rest easy until that overnight bag of yours escapes the wardrobe and sees the glorious light of day once again.
Historic lochside hotel
Offering incredible views over Loch Earn, The Four Seasons Hotel is a privately owned escape that has been welcoming guests for over 60 years.
A relaxed bistro bar with outdoor seating and cosy library with fireplace offer all the ingredients needed for a cosy and romantic getaway.
Overnight stay for two
This Big Deal is for an overnight B&B stay for two in the Hillside four-poster suite.
On arrival, you will find a pair of fluffy white bathrobes to slip into. The next morning, you can tuck into a full Scottish breakfast together.
You will also have a couple of dinner options – a three course meal or £35 per person allowance, depending on which menu you choose or the time of year you stay.
Option one is available Sunday to Wednesday, and option two is available Thursday to Saturday, throughout August and September.
Options three and four are as above, but valid throughout October and November, and include a late check-out of 2pm.
Four-poster suite with fizz
The star feature of your Hillside suite will, of course, be your oval-shaped, canopied four-poster bed.
The suite also has a dressing room, feature alcove dressing table and huge bathroom with luxury toiletries.
Other features include a TV, Bose radio, CD player, direct-dial phone and tea & coffee making facilities.
Views will be of the surrounding Trossachs hills and greenery. You are welcome to bring a dog along with you.
Choice of two restaurants
You’ll be able to sample the hotel’s esteemed cuisine while you’re there, with two restaurants to choose from.
For a fine dining experience, head to the Meall Reamhar restaurant, which serves contemporary Scottish cuisine. Here you’ll receive a three course meal from the chef’s taster menu.
The menu changes regularly, but may include the likes of rabbit and pigeon rosemary skewers with lime and coriander to start, 8oz fillet of beef, ham wrapped fine beans and caramelised pommé puree with chimichurri as a main, and ruby port plums, sage infused mousse with raspberry and thyme jam to finish.
Note the Meall Reamhar is open Thursday to Saturday only, and closes at the end of October.
For a more casual meal, opt for the Tarken Bar and Bistro, which dishes up hearty, traditional fare. Guests dining here will receive a £35 per person allowance on the Tarken menu.
Both restaurants offer views of the loch and share the same expert kitchen team.
After dinner, you can enjoy a coffee or your favourite after-dinner digestif in front of the fireplace in the hotel’s ‘Hogwarts’ library.
Explore Loch Earn
You will be based on the shores of the loch with the whole of the Trossachs National Park to explore. Peaceful St. Fillans village is a short walk away and offers a nine-hole golf course and the Loch Earn Watersports Centre.
Whether you fancy hillwalking, craft shopping or whisky tasting at nearby Glenturret Distillery, there will be plenty to experience on this overnight stay.
The Four Seasons Hotel at St. Fillans has earned itself a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence based on positive guest feedback. Here are a few reviews, shortened for length:
‘Excellent place to stay and eat, and as for the view looking over the loch, sitting outside with a pint is to die for. Susan and her staff are extremely friendly and helpful, I will be back for sure, highly recommend.’
‘We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Very warm, hospitable and friendly staff who always greeted us with a smile – especially Wendy who looked after us during our (usually last minute) run to catch breakfast!... Good bar area with outside seating – great for an evening beer to watch the sun set. Great location, and great staff. Plenty to do in the area – easily filled our stay with walks, views, eating and shopping!’
‘Brilliant… Once again we had a fabulous time with attentive service and lovely food. We have already booked for June! We simply love this place…’
