Getaway break

Available seven days a week, option one is for two people to enjoy an overnight break in a standard double or twin room at the city centre hotel.

You will enjoy a two course dinner in the award-winning Opus One Restaurant. In the morning, a full Scottish breakfast will set you up for a day exploring the beautiful city of Perth or the surrounding countryside.

Option two is for a two consecutive night stay with a two course dinner in Opus One on the first night plus full Scottish breakfast each morning.

Option three is for a three consecutive night stay with dinner in Opus One on the first night and breakfast each morning.

All options include a bottle of wine your room on arrival.

Opus One is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Guests arriving on those days are welcome to eat in Gavin’s Bistro in the hotel.

Family-run hotel

Run by the Boyle family, the New County Hotel is an elegant, modern hotel in the heart of Perth which sits beside AK Bell library and is within walking distance of Perth Theatre, Horsecross Perth Concert Hall and Perth Museum & Art Gallery.

Great food

Head Chef Rory Lovie loves working with fresh, local produce which he regularly uses in his inventive, seasonal dishes. Your two course dinner will be served in the stylish Opus One Restaurant which, along with two AA Rosettes, has won the coveted Urban Restaurant of the Year Award at the Scottish Restaurant Awards.

The menus change regularly but typical dishes might be starters such as wood pigeon with pickled pear, Savoy cabbage and walnut or the goats cheese mousse with textures of beetroot and a Parmesan tuille.

Popular main courses include the Guinness-braised beef shin with herb dumpling, root vegetables and pommes purée or the trio of pork belly, loin and cheek with carrot, pearl barley and salsify.

‘Very pleasant stay – Opus Restaurant was very good. Our room was nice and spacious – light and bright. The beds were comfortable. The manager Simon was attentive and very helpful. We had dinner at the Opus restaurant on the first night – and we were pleasantly surprised by the high quality. We did not expect ‘fine dining’ but that is what we got. It was the kind of menu you read and think “oh I’m not quite sure about that” – but when on the plate the flavours and presentation were excellent. The hotel is in a great position – on the edge of the city centre – so really easy to walk out to go shopping and for other restaurants (of which there are plenty) – and friendly pubs. We had a lovely weekend – and wouldn’t hesitate to return to do it again.’
