How did it get to be mid-April already? We’re still vacuuming up pine needles from Christmas.
If your 2014 is flying by a little too fast for comfort then it’s time to slow things down and take it easy with today’s Big Deal on a stay at the four star Moness House Hotel in Aberfeldy.
Less than two hours from all of Scotland’s major cities, the lovely Moness Resort is quick and easy to get to.
And yet, tucked away in its own 35-acre woodland estate, it feels a long way from the grind of urban life.
Now a welcoming and comfortable, four star, country house hotel, Moness House started life as a baronial shooting lodge way back in 1758.
Lovingly refurbished to retain the integrity of the original while introducing the essentials of modern day comfort, Moness House and Resort are an ideal base for exploring this beautiful and unique part of Scotland.
Today’s offer is for two people to stay in a splendid Deluxe Room. Furnished to the highest standard, these lovely rooms feature flat screen TV with satellite channels; DVD; Egyptian cotton bed linen; hairdryer, iron and hot drinks facilities. There is free WiFi throughout the hotel.
As well as tea or coffee and scones on arrival, the offer includes a full Scottish breakfast each morning plus full use of the excellent resort facilities.
Option 1 is for a one night stay while option 2 is for two consecutive nights.
Upgrades will be available at £10 per night for a Superior Room and £20 per night for a Suite, Garden or Cedar Room.
This offer is valid seven days a week. There is a £10 per night per room supplement for all July stays; a £20 per night supplement for all Friday and Saturday night stays and a £20 per night supplement for stays on the 4/5/25th and 26th May.
Guests at the hotel are welcome to use all of the resort’s extensive leisure facilities. The changing rooms, steam room, sauna, individual treatment rooms and poolside showers all have a new contemporary look while the heated swimming pool is as popular as ever.
Badminton, mini-tennis, squash, table tennis and pool are all available on site or you could indulge in some luxurious treatments in the Spa Therapy Rooms.
Big Deal customers can enjoy a 25% discount on normal spa treatment rates. Book them directly with the hotel at the same time as reserving your room.
Scottish restaurant in Perthshire
If you choose to take meals other than breakfast at the resort, then Flemmyngs Restaurant offers an excellent choice of fresh meat, fish and game sourced in Perthshire.
The menu is changed daily but typical dishes might be the hot-smoked salmon and smoked salmon with pickled cucumber and Hollandaise; the slow cooked shin of Aberdeen beef with celeriac purée, fondant potato and roasted root vegetables or the Drambuie scented crème brulée with caramelised orange segments and shortbread.
Guests ordering a three course dinner in Flemmyngs will be offered a bottle of house wine as part of the Big Deal.
The more informal Terrace offers a great spread of light bites, bar suppers and nibbles.

Moness Hotel and Resort have inspired plenty of happy visitors to share their experiences on TripAdvisor. The following is from a recent guest:
‘Exceeded expectations. We stayed in an eaves twin room in the hotel – a very clean room and bathroom and beds with lovely soft white bedding – a good night’s sleep. Towels were really white and toiletries replaced daily. Our room had a good hair drier and bottled mineral water as well as an iron with a board, and the usual kettle, biscuits, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. When we couldn’t get the flatscreen TV on, we rang reception to moan. The receptionist said to use STV for Scotland but by the time we had, she was at the door to check it was working!
‘The pool, sauna and steam room weren’t huge but very pleasant. Breakfast food was good quality and plentiful – fresh baked croissants particularly delicious. The bacon, sausage, black pudding, mushroom, baked beans and potato cakes from the buffet were definitely hot enough and I had a really nice specially cooked eggs Benedict one morning. Staff were helpful – especially at breakfast. The location is exceptional – with the Birks of Aberfeldy just over the road, the Tay nearby and wonderful scenery everywhere…’
