Barcelona House hotel is in the Ciutat Vella or old quarter of Barcelona, right in the heart of the party district.
The hotel offers modern, air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi, a safe and satellite TV. There is a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage is available.
Las Ramblas is right on your doorstep, the harbour a short stroll away and the Barceloneta beach is around a fifteen minute walk away. The Picasso Museum and fashionable Borne district are a ten minute walk.
Dining options in the area are numerous, and the nearby La Boqueria food market is the perfect place to assemble a gourmet beach picnic.
Last but not least, the hotel is well connected to the rest of the city by Metro: Line 3 Station Drassanes.
A stroll down Las Ramblas is the ideal introduction to Barcelona’s appeal, a broad avenue lined with shops, market stalls and colourful street life. Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a spot of people-watching.
Exploring the medieval streets and buildings of the Barri Gotic is a great way to spend your first morning, discovering an atmospheric and ancient quarter of the city that still contains some of Barcelona’s finest bars and cafes.
After ticking off the Sagrada Familia and the architect’s other ornate masterpieces the Casa Mila and Casa Batllo, it’s worth admiring an older landmark, the Basilica of Santa Maria Del Mar, dating from the 14th century.
A more modern temple of worship is the Camp Nou. If you can grab a ticket for a Barcelona home match, take the opportunity to see football geniuses in action. If not, a stadium tour gets you close to pitch side and gives you a taste of the club’s rich history.
When the sun shines, join the locals on Barceloneta beach, a great place to hang out, soak up some rays and enjoy a little local cava in one of the beach bars.
Barcelona House hotel has picked up plenty of admiring feedback on TripAdvisor. Recent reviews include the following, edited for length:
‘A nice hotel in a great street… It is situated close to Las Ramblas in a narrow street which is packed with bars and restaurants. It can be noisy at night but there are rooms away from Carrer del Escudellers… As well as being a perfect location for seeing the sights of Barcelona we found the beautiful Placa Reial, a square directly behind the hotel which has about eight restaurants and entertainment venues catering to all tastes… The hotel was very modern with lovely accommodation and a very nice tapas bar of its own.’
‘Birthday weekend visit. Great little central hotel, just off Las Ramblas… a short walk from the marina and mall. Very comfortable, beautiful bathroom, comfy beds, perfectly serviceable city centre hotel.’
‘Husband’s 30th birthday. Barcelona… A city that never sleeps!!!! The hotel is situated in the middle of Las Ramblas… Perfect location. Room was spotless and cleaned daily with new towels. All attractions are local via the hop on bus and metro. Camp Nou is a fantastic day out… Barcelona is deffo worth the visit and if you are after a great location, both comfy, cheap and cheerful then stay at hotel Barcelona House! We will deffo be back.’
