Dreich weather giving you that dreaded ‘back to school’ feeling?
When you were little, you could cheer yourself up by choosing a shiny new pencil case (ideally, one with lots of secret compartments).
But now that you’re all grown-up, it will take something a little more sophisticated to get you excited about autumn. Like, for instance, a swish overnight stay for two in Abode hotel in Glasgow.
This deluxe Big Deal includes an upgraded room, cocktail on arrival, full Scottish breakfast and optional dining.
Seriously, it’s shinier than the shiniest of pencil cases…
Characterful and contemporary hotel
Based smack-bang in the city centre near to the Theatre Royal and King’s, Abode is a chic Edwardian townhouse hotel that has bagged itself four AA Gold stars.
Vintage touches like a cage lift and stained glass windows create a period vibe that mixes nicely with the contemporary art and decor.
Deluxe overnight stay
Available seven days until the end of November, option one of this Big Deal is for an overnight stay for two in an upgraded Desirable Room. A cocktail each and sumptuous breakfast selection is included.
Option two adds on a three course dinner in the relaxed and sophisticated Brasserie Abode.
Super comfy room
Desirable Rooms include a luxury queen size bed, secondary glazing for extra tranquility, air conditioning, bath with shower, bespoke toiletries, Nespresso machine, Newby Teas, in-room safe and free WiFi.
You can also make the most of a tuck box filled with foodie treats (note that these will be chargeable).
In other words, get ready to kick back and relaaax…
If you choose option two, then you can sit down to a leisurely three course meal for two in the sleek Brasserie Abode.
Dishes can change, but sample mains include crisp pork belly with apple & sage compote; grilled fillet of sea bream with lobster & crayfish broth, and macaroni with truffle shavings.
Note that there will be a supplement on select dishes like steaks.
This TripAdvisor reviewer had plenty of good things to say about their recent stay. Here’s a snippet:
‘This hotel is ideal for anyone who likes a place with character and wants a base to explore the city. We enjoyed the elegant entrance hall, the friendly and helpful staff and the historic lift, which could be part of a film set. We had a lovely room, clean and tastefully decorated. Above all, it was quiet at night. No noises from the street. No annoying hotel noises either, not even from the historic lift. In my experience that is pretty unusual. We enjoyed a very good breakfast. And had a great time exploring Glasgow, which was easy because of the relatively central location…’
What’s your excuse?
This swish overnight stay at Abode would be great for pairing with a show, gig or special celebration.
But of course, you don’t need any of those excuses to bag this Big Deal — you can just make it a very grown-up ‘back to school’ treat instead.
And with a Desirable Room, cocktail, generous breakfast and optional three course dinner to enjoy, we can’t think of a more stylish way to welcome in autumn…
