Afternoon tea at Metropolitan includes a delicious selection of sandwiches –  roast beef and horseradish; tuna and cucumber; ham and mustard as well as egg mayonnaise and cress.

Naturally, there is a selection of sweet treats, think along the lines of chocolate brownies, strawberry tarts and chocolate cups.

Tea and coffee is included in both options.

For Wednesday and Thursday bookings, the afternoon tea is served in the courtyard and Friday to Sunday it is served on the balcony restaurant overlooking Merchant Square.

Cocktail upgrade

For £5, customers can upgrade from Prosecco to a cocktail, choosing from the following: Bloody Mary, Met Cosmo, Bellini, Breakfast Martini, Daiquiri and French Martini. Supplements are payable direct to the restaurant.
