All great cities are based around water and the port city of Glasgow is no exception.
Drink it all in with today’s Big Deal on a two course meal for two with option of wine at the Waterfront Restaurant in Alea Casino, Springfield Quay.
Views over River Clyde
The dining room of the Waterfront Restaurant has breathtaking and unrivalled city views over the River Clyde.
The emphasis here is on having a good time, whether in the vibrant, colourful restaurant or in the wider casino complex where a packed entertainment schedule of tribute bands and sporting fixtures keep things lively.
Available 5.30pm to 11pm, Sunday to Friday, option one of the Big Deal is for two people to each have two courses from a set menu.
Whether you choose a starter and main course or main course and dessert is up to you.
The kitchen at Waterfront Restaurant makes best use of the finest Scottish products like Loch Etive salmon, Ayrshire black pudding and Scotch beef.
Typical starters might be the smooth chicken liver pâté on toasted brioche; the haggis bon bons or the fishcakes with remoulade.
Popular main courses include cod fillet with a chickpea and chorizo stew and the pan-roasted chicken supreme with a thyme rosti, Savoy cabbage, pancetta and chicken jus.
Veggie options include the sun-blushed tomato risotto and a Mediterranean vegetable pasta.
Dessert might be Eton mess, made with Perthshire soft fruit; a mango and passion fruit parfait with honeycomb or the selection of Scottish cheese with Arran oatcakes.
Some dishes will be charged a supplement.
Option two of the Big Deal is for two courses and a glass of house red or white wine each. Option three is for two courses and a bottle of house red or white.
Waterfront Restaurant has not been open long but is already attracting great reviews. This is from its Facebook page:
‘First time eating here, although we have visited Alea many times before. The food was fantastic, excellent service and great value for money. Thank you.’
