Handpicked for you – curated deals for 5pm customers
Know your Auchentoshans from your Aberfeldies? Or your Malbecs from your Merlots?
Or do you not have a scooby what folk are blethering on about when they wax lyrical about ‘peatiness’ or ‘tannins’?
It doesn’t matter either way, because today’s Big Deal for a whisky or wine flight at Brutti Compadres would suit both connoisseurs and total newbies. Tasty nibbles are included too, of course.
Tucked away in a small, secret courtyard in the Merchant City, you will find a cafe bar that conjures up all the atmosphere of the Mediterranean.
Strung with fairy lights, fruit and flowers, Brutti Compadres offers a chance to escape from Glasgow to sunnier climes for a while…
Magic of the casks
This Big Deal is for a whisky or wine flight for one with nibbles. You will get to try three whiskies or three wines in total, with tips from the knowledgeable staff.
Available Sunday to Friday until the 31st March, you will have a variety of fascinating drams and vinos to choose from.
Sample various labels
Whiskies include the ever-popular Famous Grouse, the rich and honeyed Dewars 12, and the thoroughly modern Monkey Shoulder.
You can also choose any wine from the menu, including an elegant Italian white like Grillo, an intense French red like Carmenere or the well-balanced Garnacha rose.
Nibbles will include delightful bites like bread with tapenade, queen green olives and banderillas (cute Spanish cocktail skewers).
