Fancy something Thai and tasty? Pleased by Chinese chow? Or maybe you’re crackers about Korean cuisine?
Take your taste buds on a tour of some of the world’s best loved dishes with today’s Big Deal on a meal for two from Obu Pan Asian restaurant.
Obu is a modern pan Asian restaurant located within Glasgow’s Princes Square.
Featuring a hip, contemporary decor, the restaurant offers fusion dishes from Thailand, Japan, Korea, China and India.
The manager, Tom, was brought up in Hong Kong; a city where many of the restaurants pretty much define pan Asian cooking.
His experience is just one of the reasons why so many diners are commenting favourably on the authenticity of the dishes at Obu.
Ramen to teriyaki
Available seven days a week, the offer is for two people to each have a glass of house wine or Tsingtao beer along with a main course from any of the following menu sections: ramen, wok dishes, curry pot, teriyaki, omakase and salads.
We have the hots for the chilli chicken and prawn ramen but could be persuaded by the sticky beef salad.
There are several stir-fried rice and noodle options among the wok dishes while the curry pots range from Japanese katsu curry to Thai red fish curry and a Kashmir lamb curry – all served with rice.
The omakase section has some exciting options from Korean fried chicken with Asian slaw to miso tuna steaks and chicken satay skewers.
Obu Pan Asian restaurant launched earlier this year and is already attracting happy reviews to its 5pm Dining page:
‘Fantastic food. Not long back from Kyoto and was sceptical about trying Japanese style food in Glasgow as the food there is simply phenomenal! What a surprise, a true gem in Glasgow! Food was exceptional and service the same… Excellent value for money and food was far better than I expected! Very, very good! Highly recommended and look forward to going back…’ Rating 4.8/5
‘Superb!!! The food and service was first class and I will certainly recommend going back again.’ Rating 5/5
‘Girls’ night at Obu. Had dinner last night on Obu’s two course pre-theatre menu. Food was great as were the cocktails! Lovely atmosphere for a Thursday night and really friendly staff; happy to provide recommendations on the menu… Will definitely be back!’ Rating 4.4/5
