We’re night owls and would rather have two courses of delicious food at The Hawke Bar and Kitchen.

People-watching hot spot

A chic new bar and kitchen in Merchant Square, The Hawke took flight for the first time in January and has proved wildly popular ever since.

With a prime balcony spot overlooking the covered courtyard of Merchant Square, it is perfect for people-watching, ideal for after work drinks and very popular as a lively location for innovative dining.

The finest Scottish ingredients are at the heart of the kitchen and the chefs’ cosmopolitan dishes are as creative as they are colourful.

Two courses for 2

Available from 3pm to 9pm, Wednesday to Friday and Sundays plus noon to 9pm on Saturdays, the offer is for two people to each have a starter and main course from the following menu:

Starters

Soup of the day with a crusty bread roll

Shetland smoked salmon, served with horseradish crème fraiche and brown bread

Haggis fritters served with whisky jus (vegetarian haggis available)

Chicken liver pâté with red onion chutney and oatcakes

Grilled goat’s cheese with roast tomato on a toasted brioche

Mains

Roast gammon with creamed cabbage and mashed potato

Mushroom stroganoff served with wild rice

Piri piri chicken served with salad and fries

Mince and tatties

Seafood linguini

This Big Deal is a great introduction to The Hawke Bar and Kitchen and would be ideal for a night out with friends; a romantic dinner or even a low key date.

This is nothing to do with the Big Deal but, thanks to firsthand experience, we will also point out that The Hawke is great for a drink or two.

Scottish gins and whisky from around the world are well represented on the gantry while local craft brewers take pride of place in the beer selection.

A big talking point is the tableside cocktail cabinet. This is a mobile mixologist station which is wheeled from table to table so that customers can order bespoke cocktails.
