Local produce

As we mentioned, a full Scottish breakfast is included. You won’t be disappointed if you choose to take other meals in The Golf Inn.

Popular dishes in the hotel’s brasserie include the house hamburger, the mac ‘n’ cheese or the whole tail scampi.

The owner particularly recommends the beer-battered haddock fillet with hand-cut chips, mushy peas and tartar sauce. The fish is delivered fresh each day from G and A Spink in Arbroath.

See & do

We don’t need to spell out why St Andrews is the home of golf.

However, it’s not the only attraction in St Andrews. The town’s aquarium, castle and cathedral are all worth exploring. Or you could simply enjoy a hand-in-hand stroll along West Sands Beach.

The latter is the ideal prep for a hot chocolate or cockle-warming whisky on the roof terrace.

‘Golfers’ delight… The hotel is in a great location for those who are fortunate enough to get on the Old Course and there are lots of golf shops nearby to keep golfers busy when not on the course. For non- golfers, the beach is quite close by and the main street of St Andrews, with its cafes and shops, is a short stroll away, as are other wonderful sights such as the university, Abbey and Castle ruins…’

‘Great spot to stay… this is a very nice hotel. Great location in St Andrews. The room was spacious and very clean. The staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast was included and very tasty. There isn’t a lift, only stairs and parking is on your own at nearby lots. We would certainly return to The Golf Inn if we stay in St Andrews again.’
