Popular Chinese restaurant in West End

Having first opened its doors on the Crow Road in 2005, I-Chai quickly established itself as a favourite Chinese restaurant in Glasgow’s Anniesland area. As well as set lunch and pre-theatre menus, I-Chai has an extensive a la carte which covers many classic Chinese dishes as well as a few surprises. Popular with family groups as well as couples and also an ideal venue for working lunches, I-Chai is a popular spot for a fine Chinese meal in Glasgow’s West End.

Extensive a la carte menu

A well established Chinese restaurant on Glasgow’s Crow Road, I-Chai has dishes to suit all occasions. From chicken and sweetcorn soup to chilli and salt spare ribs, the a la carte menu at I-Chai has many familiar starters. A popular choice is the mixed platter of dim sum or steamed dumplings. Customer favourites also include the pick and mix of the pim poon platter which offers prawn toast, chicken satay, spring rolls and spare ribs.

Main courses such as the Hong Kong sweet and sour chicken or the beef with bamboo shoots and water chestnuts are well tested crowd pleasers. More exotic choices include the roast duck and strawberry with plum sauce and the light, crispy chicken breast with mushroom, cheese and cream sauce. Naturally, there are European dishes on offer as well but it is the authentic Chinese food which give I-Chai a good name.

West End location, close to rail links

I-Chai, located on the north part of Crow Road, is walking distance from Anniesland rail station, which itself is situated right next to Great Western Road. Diners have the choice of several buses in and out of the West End along this main road, and there is no shortage of taxis in the area.
