  A first time visit at this restaurant for dinner, with some of the dishes being better than others. We had the curried celeriac soup and fried squid rings to start, and the soup was the better of the two, though the bread provided was very dense and burnt on the top. The squid had not been fried in oil that was hot enough so the coating was very greasy and not crisp. For mains, the topping for the mackerel was not substantial enough for the amount of fish therefore it resulted in a fairly bland dish because the flavouring of the dish was in the topping. In contrast, the ox cheeks were cooked very well. Desserts were not as well presented as I'd hoped, just very simply, plated as a slice of cake and scoop of icecream. Overall, I'd say that the food was simple fare with the price being fairly good value for this area of Glasgow. The service was speedy and efficient, but the restaurant is very small so expect to be in close proximity to the other tables.
