  I booked the pre - theatre at Metropolitan because £12.95 for two courses and a glass of wine seemed great value. However, often when we go to places with good food deals, the wine bill is very expensive! Metropolitan offered a house wine for £12.95, which seemed great value for the city. We were in a comfortable area, up in the balcony, which means you can enjoy the buzzy atmosphere without being in amongst the crowds of folk. The staff were really friendly and helpful - we all arrived at different times, with one friend arriving half an hour late due to train problems, and they somehow managed to get all our food ready at the same time. We all had the risotto starter and the chicken main and all agreed the food was delicious. The specials on the pre - theatre seemed to have quite large supplements on them - it might be better to have another dish that doesn't attract a big supplement, for an alternative? But that's nitpicking, overall we had a lovely time.
