Staff were very efficient and friendly. Food was excellent - a good choice on the lunch menu. Chose a lovely Pinot Grigio rose to accompany the meal. Unfortunately the restaurant was very quiet which perhaps detracted from the ambience. Would certainly go back but perhaps in the evening when it is a bit busier.

Isola Sarda is an Italian restaurant in Glasgow’s Merchant City which showcases cuisine from the island of Sardinia.
The restaurant has a strong focus on authenticity; the menu features traditional Sardinian dishes, produce shipped in from the island, and pasta made fresh in the kitchen each day.
Isola Sarda’s extensive menu is split into earth appetisers, seafood appetisers, first course earth and seafood dishes and larger second course earth and seafood dishes.
There are also sharing dishes, desserts and pizzas.
The Sardinian influence is prominent throughout the menu. Amongst the many traditional dishes from the island are: traditional Sardinian pasta filled with potatoes, cheese and mint topped with tomato sauce and pecorino cheese; Sardinian pasta with clams, bottarga, olive oil, garlic, saffron and chilli; and a traditional Sardinian dessert of pastry filled with fresh pecorino cheese, lemon or orange.
Quality Sardinian produce is also scattered throughout the menu in the form of cured Sardinian meat, Sardinian bread, Sardinian fava beans, and Sardian sweets and chocolate.
Isola Sarda is at Trongate in Glasgow city centre’s Argyle Street on the cusp of the Merchant City.
It is minutes’ walk away from the Tron Theatre, the Barrowlands Ballroom and the Old Fruitmarket.
Argyle Street, Queen Street, High Street and Glasgow Central train stations and St Enoch and Buchanan Street subway stations are all within ten minute walk away.
There are numerous bus links and taxi links nearby and pay car parking options in the St Enoch’s Centre and Merchant City.
