I booked last minute on Saturday for a meal before attending a concert nearby. The 5pm menu was small but the food itself was outstanding. We had the “cheese balls” and soup as starters. The soup was said to be minestrone but didn’t appear to be the traditional tomato base, it was very chunky and warming. The cheese balls were fantastic, beautifully soft, and fluffy inside. The mains of Brazilian stew and spaghetti with fresh seafood were fantastic. Wonderful flavours and excellently presented. I would really recommend it to anyone looking for something a bit different with excellent value for money.

Boteco Do Brasil is a vibrant restaurant and bar that brings a taste of Brazil to Glasgow. Located on Trongate in Merchant City, Boteco Do Brasil is wheelchair accessible and provides guests with traditional, homemade food and exotic cocktails. Evening visitors are promised an even more memorable experience when the Brazilian music begins to play and carnival atmosphere begins.
The restaurant’s menu features popular Brazilian mains like feijoada (a Brazilian stew with black beans, pork ribs, smoked bacon, salt beef and smoked sausage), and the traditional Sunday lunch of Brazilians, the churrasquinho variado (a Brazilian mix grill BBQ with salad) – a hit with meat lovers.
Some of Boteco Do Brasil’s homemade tapas dishes include the bolinho de peixe (cod fish cakes), pão de queijo (cheese bread balls), coxinha de frango (soft potato dough filled with chicken), and the typical Brazilian beach snack risoli de camaro (small pastry parcels filled with prawns and served with Marie Rose dip).
Boteco Do Brasil is in a prime Merchant City setting with the landmark Tolbooth clock tower nearby, and the bustling Argyle Street a few moments away. The restaurant is easily accessible via train, with the Argyle Street, Queen Street and Glasgow Central Stations all a short walk away.
