So it was a quiet Thursday night, and the place was almost empty, apart from my friend and I and the group of guys playing some kind of Dungeons and Dragons/Warhammer tourney (quite peaceably, I might add). So atmosphere-wise, I've seen Bacchus busier and a little more vibrant, but to be fair it was nice to be able to chill out and chat so I enjoyed it. Service was great from the off, the girl behind the bar even went to Tesco to get cucumber for my friend's hipster G&T, which is definitely above and beyond. The two course for £10 menu is great, all the classics are there. We went for the haggis tempura (which, to be accurate, are actually haggis bon bons but delicious nonetheless). I had the fish and chips and my pal went for the beef stroganoff. Both of us polished off the lot. Staff were lovely throughout, checking in on us without being pushy and making sure we had everything we needed. Bottom line: good food, great service, nice and chilled. I'll definitely be back.
