  It`s been a year since the last visit and in that time the already lofty prices have increased by 5% and the food quality has dropped by the same amount! The 5pm booking entitled us (on a la carte) to a drink of wine or beer and 20% of the bill - this had to be pointed out to the staff at the beginning of the meal and then it was omitted from the bill and had to be pointed out again. Whilst the Venison Wellington was superb both the presentation and content of the pan fried scallops was very average. When it came to the main course (6 steaks all medium) it was a bit of a `mixed bag` in terms of quality and presentation - the steaks MUST be cooked to order and perfection but it seemed as though the Chef had decided that he knew best and the steaks would be rare/medium and then rested them too long,causing them to be on the `cool` side. It seemed like the place has lost its edge or maybe the Chef was having an off day but they need to up their game as there are alternative out there!
