No issues with the staff - polite and attentive. The room was too dark and gloomy. Clam chowder was almost unpleasant and the mushroom and cheese tart tasted of neither. The accompanying leaves and salsa were good as was the fresh bread and butter. Chicken and duck main courses were nice but vegetables were extra, which was a surprise, and there weren’t much of them. One dessert was a lovely ginger sponge and coffee ice-cream, but the cheese platter comprised a lump each of the blandest cheddar and brie, some nice grapes, two stacks of biscuits and an awful, inedible chutney. With wine starting at £25 a bottle, there is little reason to visit the Urban again.
