The Spiritualist Review

  • Rating Nice Food, Pity about the wait (Rating 3.2/5)
The old Stirling Library has indeed been transformed into a magnificent venue for Food and Drink. Roomy and well Lit, tables and booths available and a well stocked and well presented bar. We took up the lunchtime offer of two course for £13.95...we were greeted by our server and given the option of several tables and booths. Our menus arrived promptly as did our drinks and we gave our order from our Mains of Plaice and Roast Belly Pork. After at least half an hour, probably closer to forty minutes, our mains had not arrived and I disappointingly had to seek out the waitress to advise her of this. The Restaurant was not busy so perhaps a nice touch of courtesy would have been to come to our table to apologise for the delay rather than come with the mains and apologise then. The food itself was tasty but its presentation lacked colour and the exercise of any real flair in the near forty minutes it had taken to prepare it. Our Panacotta and Ice CReam Desserts were again tasty enough but again disappointed in their presentation. The Venue is relatively new and so this may be what contributed to our dining experience. I would be happy to return in the future where I hope these temporary blips have been ironed out
