Not impressed by the food very mediocre, staff unaware of bookings, food was just ok, portions were small, the place was very cold I had to put my jacket back on, staff were pleasant enough, not in a rush to go back if I’m honest husband felt the same

Classic pub dining in the city centre

The Clutha & Victoria Bar is a true city institution. Based on Bridgegate close to the Clyde, it is a legendary Glasgow pub with roots stretching back two-hundred years. Beyond the mural covered exterior featuring Billy Connolly, Spike Milligan and Stan Laurel, you will find a cosy hideaway serving hearty, no-nonsense fare. The Clutha is also famous for being a local music venue, so you can expect nightly gigs and open mics as a backdrop to your meal.

Scottish pub food favourites

The Clutha’s menu stays true to old-school Glasgow grub with an added international twist here and there. Choices can change, but the Clutha Classic Pub Dishes range includes crowd pleasers like mince & tatties, fish & chips and the gourmet 6oz steak burger. Non-carnivores can tuck into the veg casserole & mash in a spicy Napoli sauce.

The pasta section includes mac ‘n’ cheese, pasta carbonara and pasta bake with chicken, pepperoni & peppers in a creamy cheese & tomato sauce. All pizzas are cooked fresh to order and include Gorbals Hawaiian, BBQ chicken and veg feast.

If you’ve got room for dessert, then take your pick from chocolate fudge cake or ice cream sundae with toffee or strawberry.

There is also a children’s menu available.

City centre transport links and attractions

The Clutha & Victoria Bar is based where the city centre meets The Gorbals, just a stroll away from the Clyde waterfront. If you are doing a bit of sightseeing then Glasgow Green and the People’s Palace are a few minutes walk away. The Barrowlands, Tron Theatre and Old Fruitmarket are also easy to get to, making this a great spot for a bite to eat before a gig or show. The nearest train station is Argyle Street and you will also be handy for St. Enoch subway. You can find pay parking at the NCP on King Street, just around the corner.
