  • Rating Slow Service, Not Great Food, but pretty cheap ... (Rating 2.4/5)
    We went to The Chippy Doon the Lane on Thursday evening for a 'quick' bite to eat. We were there for over an hour and a half due to slow service. When we asked how long our main courses would be, we were told that the kitchen was a bit behind as they were quite busy. I appreciate that the restaurant was busy at the time, but understood that was why restaurants usually staggered bookings! We did receive two complimentary drinks to apologise for the delay, and our meal (1 starter shared between two, 2 mains and 2 drinks) came to just under £20. Unfortunately the batter on our mains was quite greasy though so we most likely will not be going back. Sorry to report :-(
