    Authentically Spanish

The tapas is quite different to the other tapas restaurants in Glasgow and I think it's pretty authentic. It's normally expensive, so the 5pm deal is well worth it. The wine isn't cheap but it's been well chosen and is good. The desserts are also very good. We were slightly disappointed that one of the choices on the 5pm (lunch and early evening) menu was not available and had not been replaced. Everything we chose tasted good though.

    Fabulous!

Loved the tapas! A bit different from usual choices. Great flavours and presentation. Friendly attentive staff. Will definitely go back soon!

Authentic Spanish restaurant in Glasgow city centre

Since opening in the autumn of 2016, Ibérica Glasgow has quickly established a reputation for serving high quality, bona fide Spanish dishes in a smart but casual setting. Once a St Vincent Street bank, the red sandstone building has been given a stunning refurbishment by the Spanish designer Lazaro Rosa Violan. The restaurant’s design emphasizes the Celtic heritage shared by Northern Spain and Scotland, and includes a set of Asturian bagpipes. At the time of writing, it is the eighth Ibérica restaurant in the UK but the first in Scotland.

Regional Spanish dishes

Ibérica offers casual restaurant dining menus designed by the multi-Michelin starred Executive Head Chef Nacho Manzano. Many of the dishes take their cue from the Asturias, the region of north west Spain which Manzano hails from. Centred around top quality Spanish produce, the menus are seasonal and constantly evolving. In addition to a selection of authentic tapas, there are carefully sourced Spanish cheeses, cured meats and jamon from acorn-fed Iberian pigs alongside a grill selection of Galician beef and interesting cuts of pork. A bar menu and delicatessen selling Spanish delicacies complete the line-up.

Glasgow city centre transport

Ibérica Glasgow is on the corner of St Vincent Street and Hope Street. The transport hubs of Central and Queen Street train stations are a five minute walk. There is restricted on-street parking and pay car parking on Mitchell Street. Local attractions include Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and the shopping opportunities of Buchanan and Argyle Street.

Tasting Ibérica: 6 dishes not to miss

As the 5pm blog reported last month, Ibérica, the casual dining Spanish restaurant chain, was due to open its first Scottish restaurant in Glasgow last week. We attended its opening to experience the restaurant before opening its doors to the public last Friday.
