    Great place

Had great wee time catching up with friends over some food and vino. Service was good, food was good and the place has a nice informal atmosphere.

    Excellent hidden treasure

I took my husband here as part of his 40th celebrations and he loves bourbon! The ambience, staff, drinks selection (not just bourbon) and food were fantastic. The staff are very knowledgeable about bourbon and suggested some to try out. Overall, excellent experience for both of us and most definitely will be back. Thank you.

Hidden gem on Charing Cross

Named after Charles Bukowski’s literary alter ego, Chinaski’s is an atmospheric bourbon and cigar bar on North Street, Charing Cross. With an impressively well stocked back bar, a heated outdoor terrace, beer garden, weekend DJ’s and, of course, delicious food, it’s the perfect place to while away the hours, wine and dine a date, or stop by for a quick bite.

Rustic bar food with flair

The menu at Chinaski’s is continually evolving depending on the seasons and food trends. Typical starters might be the oat-rolled haggis bon bons with a bourbon and mustard sauce or the seared mackerel fillet with a zingy fennel and coriander salad.

Alongside ever popular main courses like the chunky Chinaski burger, there are always more seasonal options. During the colder months, these tend towards hearty dishes such as the braised pork cheeks with a root veg stew and parsnip puree, or the chilli and polenta-crusted cod fillet, which is served with a rustic tomato and chickpea cassoulet.

As well as a range of pizza, there is a selection of innovative small plates featuring options like the truffled fries, smoked cheese and beer toast or the ham hock and pineapple terrine with Stornoway crumbs and a pineapple purée.

Central location

Chinaski’s is a five minute walk from Charing Cross rail station. It is close to many bus routes and a five minute walk from a Sauchiehall Street taxi rank. There is some on-street parking. The King’s Theatre and the O2 ABC are a ten minute walk.
