First Time Visit

What a friendly and efficient place to eat. The service was excellent and the food we ordered was a Tapas mix. The food supplied was just beautiful. Flavours, colours, textures of the food all absolutely stunning. Two fabulous deserts and out again just over an hour which is what we needed. However, next time we will go back and will stay longer and enjoy more of the available food. I think we have just found our new favourite food place. Thanks again.

Popular city centre Spanish tapas restaurant

One of the more popular tapas restaurants in Glasgow, Cafe Andaluz on St Vincent Place brings more than a little southern Spanish sunshine to the city centre. It certainly looks the part – tiled tables, beautiful carved wooden seats and Andalucian hanging lamps that would not seem out of place in a bodega in Seville. Step through the doors at Cafe Andaluz and Glasgow suddenly feels very far away.

Fresh, modern menu options

Glasgow’s diners appreciate the freshly prepared food and also the staff who are happy to pepper their explanations of the menu with personal recommendations. The tapas menu is split into meat, vegetarian and seafood choices with a separate section for paella. There are plenty of options, however Cafe Andaluz has wisely chosen not to risk daunting its customers with a ridiculously long menu. Instead, it features a select choice of classic tapas dishes.

Spanish omelette, meatballs in tomato sauce and chilli garlic prawns come under the category of old favourites. Dishes like the aubergine shell filled with cous cous, peppers, herbs, tomato and grated Manchego or the chicken fillet in a crisp batter, coated with Spanish honey and grain mustard offer a detour from the most well-beaten paths.

Prime city centre location, close to Queen Street Station

Cafe Andaluz opened in its prime city centre site in 2006 and seems to have been busy ever since. It is a short walk from Queen Street rail station, with plenty of nearby bus stops and taxi ranks.
