Had another lovely meal in Padano's. Staff are so attentive and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable, our meal was excellent, very good choices, particularly loved the panacotta. Hope to return soon.

Padano is a casual dining spot on Main Street serving fresh pizza and pasta handmade by Italians. Inside, the decor is contemporary and minimalist, with rustic wooden floors and neutral colours putting the focus firmly on the food.
Padano’s menu is filled with solid Italian crowd pleasers as well as the odd surprise. Individual dishes can change, but you can expect starters such as fresh mozzarella & tomato salad with Parma ham or home-style chicken liver pate with toasted Italian bread.
Highlights of the pasta section include penne with Scottish smoked salmon & citrus-infused mascarpone or spaghetti with crispy pancetta & Grana Padano cheese in a chilli & white wine sugo, alongside favourites like penne arrabiata, spaghetti alla puttanesca and carbonara.
As well as pizza classics such as margherita and funghi, you could also try out the Texana with Italian sausage and hand-cut fries or the Imbruttita with Milanese salami. Other mains include pan-fried chicken escalope in a light lemon & thyme sauce or oven-baked fillet of sea bass.
The dessert selection includes Nutella pizza, rich chocolate souffle and a creamy, home-style panna cotta with red berry compote.
Padona is right in the centre of town, a five-minute walk from the main train station. Rutherglen Town Hall and the Exchange Shopping Centre are both nearby. If you are driving, then pay parking can be found at the station.
