    Late Lunch

Warm welcome, large open fire, good quality food. Minor gripe, tables tightly packed in wooden bench seats uncomfortable for anyone over 6 feet tall. Won't stop us returning.

    Great Restaurant Experience

From our arrival things just got better and better. Our waitress was an absolute gem and could not have been more helpful taking time to explain the dishes. The food what can i say, starters was soup of the day with crusty bread - first class. I had the mussels for main, which were to die for. My husband had fish and chips and said it was the best he had eaten in a long time - this is coming from a chef himself so that says it all. Cheese board to follow and what an enjoyable experience. We can't wait to return.

Seafood bar and restaurant in Finnieston

Taking its name from the hip and fashionable area in which it sits, The Finnieston Bar and Restaurant is a safe haven for seafood lovers. Cosy wooden booths, a few tiled walls, storm lamps, rigging and fishing photos all lend an appropriately nautical theme. An open fire keeps it all cosy. If the decor tips a wink to old sea dogs, the cooking – and the cocktail list – are distinctly more modern and urban. An outside seating area is popular when the weather is behaving.

Carefully sourced Scottish seafood

The Finnieston’s kitchens place great emphasis on serving sustainable, ethically-sourced Scottish seafood. This might mean local oysters prepared a variety of ways or small plates of stuffed Shetland squid or pan-seared Tarbet scallops. Main courses revolve around the fish of the day which are served as fish ‘n’ chips or as a design your own dinner with customers choosing which sides and sauces they would like with their fish.
A wide range of daily specials might include whole roasted sea bass with a Bramley apple stuffing or Scrabster turbot in a tomato consommé. There are always vegetarian and meat options like the 28 day-aged Macduff Sirloin steaks.

Finnieston transport links and attraction

The Finnieston Bar and Restaurant is on a very fashionable stretch of Argyle Street. There is limited on-street parking and several bus routes go to and from the city centre from outside the restaurant. Kelvinhall is the nearest subway. The SECC, Hydro and Kelvingrove Gallery and Museum are all within easy walking distance.
