Part of the sleek Mint Hotel, the City Cafe serves award-winning European brasserie style food in what is rapidly becoming one of Glasgow’s most up and coming entertainment areas. The Clyde side area is redeveloping quickly to become a media and leisure hub and the chic and modern City Cafe fits its changing surrounds perfectly. As well as boasting great views across the Clyde and an outside terrace, it has an exciting menu of seasonal, locally sourced food.
Modern European
Whether you eat al fresco on the Clyde side terrace or inside the tastefully minimalist City Cafe restaurant, you will have a relaxing and enjoyable meal at Glasgow’s Mint Hotel. The City Cafe describes its food as modern European classics which means that you might find a traditional coq au vin or dish of calves’ liver and caramelised onion mash sitting beside fresh crab spring rolls with a chilli and mango salsa. There is always a market dish of the day on the a la carte which uses the very best of that day’s produce. If you would prefer something a little more informal than the full a la carte, Glasgow’s City Cafe also runs a lounge/terrace menu of gourmet soups, sandwiches and salads as well as a selection of burgers and, during the week, a dish of the day roster that includes fish n’ chips, fishcakes and a shepherd’s pie.
