    We had a fabulous three course lunch with champagne which had been given to me as a present for my retiral. I had not heard of the hotel although I have been coming to St Andrews for 28 years. As I found out the hotel has only been open for just over a year. The decor was modern with tradional elements. The staff were all very attentive and helpful. The food was exceptional apart from the modules frites which lacked wine and herbs. However when I asked for herbs it was certainly no problem and arrived a few minutes later. I had a little problem with receiving different Sauvignon Blancs. Again the staff were honest and helpful and in the end I received a glass of champagne. I would definitely recommend Hotel du Vin for the ambience ,staff and fabulous food.
