Heard lots about Hotel du Vin's Sunday lunch so went with high expectations and we were not disappointed. You must go - from start to finish simply outstanding!

Booked the champagne 3 course lunch for a friends birthday. Hotel du vin were kind enough to give us a table at the bay window overlooking the beach as I had requested this on booking. They made a fuss over my friend who's birthday it was and were really lovely to us. Service was fantastic as I hadn't printed my voucher and they assisted me on emailing same once we had enjoyed our meals. Beautiful food, tried snails for the first time. It was a lovely special treat and I will definitely book again and recommend. Thanks for a great day !

Hotel du Vin Bistro is a classic French bistro on The Scores in St Andrews. Flooded with natural light, the cosy bistro features dark, reclaimed floors, restored fireplaces and beautiful chandeliers. As the du Vin in the name suggests, this bistro offers a splendid selection of wines from around the world and the hotel’s friendly and highly trained sommelier is more than happy to guide guests around the list.
The menus at the HdV Bistro are all about dishes which are fresh, seasonal, locally produced and, as far as is possible, organic. The kitchen likes to produce hearty, home style cooking with a classic French or, occasionally, a traditional British flavour.
On the plate, this means starters such as the pear, walnut and Roquefort salad or the crab toast. It means beef Bourguignon served on the bone; coq au Riesling; roasted lamb rumps and bouillabaisse. The towering HdV burger is always popular as are the 28-day-aged steaks cooked on the charcoal-fired Josper grill.
Hotel du Vin Bistro is on The Scores overlooking the sea. St Andrews Old Course and the University of St Andrews are both within a five minute walk. Leuchars Station is situated roughly six miles outside of St Andrews and is the closest train station to the hotel. There is free on street parking at the front of the hotel.
