Contemporary Indian by Haymarket

Ignite is an Indian restaurant on Morrison Street in Edinburgh’s West End. The warm, rich decor reflects the warm welcome which the staff extend to their customers. Linen table cloths and highly polished glasses demonstrate Ignite’s ambitions to offer a sophisticated dining experience. Ideal for a business lunch, romantic dinner or a group celebration, Ignite enjoys a convenient Haymarket location.

Bangladeshi and northern Indian dishes

Ignite offers dishes from Bangladesh and northern India. The classics section of the menu lists all the old favourites such as dhansak, pathia and korma curries. There is also a wide choice of tandoori options such as tandoori trout and lamb kebabs. Less familiar choices might include dishes such as the maracel chicken, a Goan speciality made with spiced, batter-coated chicken which is stir-fried with peppers, ginger, tomatoes and fresh coriander.

There is a great choice of vegetarian dishes and seafood lovers are also well catered for. The green herb king prawns and the pan-fried sea bass on the bone are highly recommended.

Located on Morrison Street in Edinburgh’s West End, Ignite is a two minute walk from Haymarket train station and the tram line. Numerous bus routes run to and from the city centre from the nearby Atholl Place. Local attractions include Murrayfield and Tynecastle sports stadiums.
