What a pleasant surprise. We expected the typical pub type food. However it really was super tasty and fresh. Wonderful yummy soup, mushrooms, fish and chicken pie. The welcoming, pleasant lady who served us was a friendly, down to earth pleasure. This place will be jammed as word gets around. Thank you.

Small, cosy and friendly little place on the corner. The food was delicious and hot, service from the waiters was friendly, informative and efficient. Lovely little find...will definitely go back.

One Canonmills is an independent local bar and eatery offering lovingly crafted comfort food with a gourmet twist. The decor of exposed brickwork and stripped wood offers a stylishly low-key setting for brunch, lunch or dinner, as well as cocktails, beers and gins. Your pooch is also welcome.
Brunch choices feature bacon French toast with maple syrup; smashed avocado & poached egg bagel with chilli jam, and wild mushroom zapiekanka on sourdough toast with truffle oil & melted cheese.
Small plate highlights include smoked salmon & cream cheese on a brioche crostini or haggis pierogi with chilli jam, which has a welcome veggie option.
Mains are all served with big skin-on fries and include Prahva beer-battered haddock; vegan jackfruit burger with cashew mayo, and a three cheese mac.
Or why not opt for a bao bun served with rock salt fries or miso greens? Choices include hoisin duck, fish finger or avocado & halloumi, or you could opt for the brunchier BLT.
A stroll away from King George V park, One Canonmills is also handy for the Water of Leith, making it ideal for a leisurely bite to eat followed by a riverside stroll.
