  I booked this restaurant with no expectations as it was a deal which I thought was too good to be true, I was very wrong. We arrived earlier than our sitting to enjoy a few drinks, in which can only be described as one of Edinburgh’s hidden Gems. The atmosphere was fantastic, live music all evening and the bar had an extensive cocktail list, what more could a girl want. The bar staff were very tentative and made sure that we were seated at our table as soon as it was ready. The waitress that served us can only be described as the nicest girl ever. She understood all my allergies and made me feel like I wasn’t restricted to a small menu like I am in most restaurants. She was excellent at her job and made us both feel very welcome checking that we were ok and had everything we wanted throughout the meal. Nothing was too much to ask from her. The food, for starters everything on the menu had all of the allergens I was allergic too, so the chef told me to choose something I would like and he would cook it especially for me. I had scallops on a bed of crush mustard salad, which was beautiful ( I wish I had taken photos as they were presented beautifully), my husband had the haggis stuffed mushrooms, which looked and smelt amazing. We both had steak for our mains, which can be hit or miss. Our steaks were melt in the mouth, cooked to perfection and the most flavoursome slabs of meat we have had in a long time. The portions were perfect and when my husband asked for fried onions (might seem strange to some especially in Scotland were it is never an choice of accompaniment to steak) they came cooked to perfection in his eyes and plenty for us to share. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for an intimate meal with your other half or even a group of friends as this restaurant and bar caters for all. I will definitely be going back!
