Located on the corner of East London and Broughton Streets, the second Edinburgh TriBeCa quickly established itself after opening in 2016. Based on the classic American diner – with a large splash of NYC pizzazz – it is a cool mix of stripped brick walls, neon and pictures of the awe-inspiring Manhattan skyline by night. Open from breakfast through to 10pm, the New Town TriBeCa lives up its slogan: A little slice of the Big Apple in the heart of your neighbourhood.
You could have a superfood salad at TriBeCa New Town but why miss out on the chilli dogs, buttermilk pancake stacks and all American burgers?
From baby back ribs to rib-eye steaks, the menus here are all about hearty eating. And the kitchen is more than happy to salute the influence of immigrant cuisines on the American diet: try the quesadillas or the Chinese American General Tso’s chicken. Even Canadian delicacies such as poutine get a look in. Classic US cocktails and beers plus a wide-ranging wine list complete the line-up.
TriBeCa New Town is on the corner where East London Street meets Broughton Street. Waverley train station is a brisk ten minute stroll while John Lewis, the Omni Centre and Edinburgh Playhouse can be walked in a little under that. There is limited, on-street, pay parking in the neighbourhood. York Place, at the top of Broughton Street, has a tram stop. Dozens of major bus routes run from the
top of Leith Walk.
