Based in a luxury boutique hotel in an A-listed Georgian townhouse, The Place offers Scottish cuisine with a few international influences. The setting is sleek but welcoming, with a fireplace and adjacent shimmery cocktail bar.

Sample starters at The Place include chicken liver & wild mushroom terrine, classic cullen skink and mini caeser salad.

Mains include a 10oz Scottish sirloin steak; pan-fried sea trout with mussels, and creamy beef stroganoff.
