Beautiful place walking distance for us so fab!! Only slight issue we had was they didn’t have our booking luckily I had the email confirmation so was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Food was lovely 😊 we will be back soon !!

Half decent pub grub at extortionate prices.
We went a large carte with a very decent looking menu.
Starters:My wife chose the scallops which were overcooked (criminal for a seafood place) while my seafood chowder was very nice.
Mains:My burger was quite average with very oily onion rings. The wife had a very nice slow cooked beef dish
Desert:I had a quite decent sticky toffee pudding while my wife had a very average cheese board.
As you can see not terrible but very hit or miss.
We had 2 pepsis each

It must be a stunning looking venue in the summer and the service was pretty good, but we could eat at the finest restaurants in Glasgow for less.

The Waterside Restaurant and Bar is part of the family-owned SimpsInns group on the Ardrossan Road by West Kilbride. With views across the Firth of Clyde to Arran, the property makes the most of its stunning, water-edge location. As well as the restaurant and bar, there is a heated verandah and private beach garden, perfect for al fresco dining. The Si! Shack in the hotel grounds adds yet more dining choices with excellent seafood and shellfish options along with traditional fish and chips. New England design combine with maritime features to give it all a look as fresh as a sea breeze.
Scottish provenance, especially from Ayrshire, takes pride of place across the extensive menus at The Waterside. From the Cairnhill beef used in the burgers to the Arran cheddar on the toasted ciabatta, the restaurant flies the flag for local suppliers. Whether in the form of seafood chowder, haddock and chips, fishcakes or seared scallops, there are lots of fresh seafood dishes to choose from.
Others may prefer to tuck into the Scottish steaks in the grill section. Diners are welcome to choose traditional Scottish dishes like the braised beef in an Arran ale gravy or opt for more international flavours like the tandoori chicken curry, smoked haddock risotto or the fajitas. Put simply, from breakfast through to supper, there are options for every taste and all occasions.
The Waterside Restaurant and Bar is part of The Waterside Hotel on Ardrossan Road, West Kilbride, in Ayrshire. The hotel has ample free parking. The nearest train station is West Kilbride. Ayrshire attractions include Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, Culzean Castle, Ayr Racecourse and numerous world class golf courses.
