1st time here and it won’t be the last - food and service great. Only issue was the cocktails - possibly just not to our taste - butter old fashioned for those who love a regular OF possibly a sweet step too far.
I Will return as loved everything else.

Beautiful building in the centre of Edinburgh. Rump steak is great served medium rare. Definitely recommend and can't wait to go back.

Hawksmoor is a renowned family of steak restaurants committed to serving the finest cuts of meat as well as a quality seafood selection. This Edinburgh venue is situated in the show-stopping location of the A-Listed former Royal Bank of Scotland headquarters.
There, you can dine on dry-aged beef from grass-fed, native breeds and sustainably sourced seafood. Dishes are complemented by a selection of fine wines and striking cocktails, as well as craft beers and spirits.
Menu items can change seasonally, but expect starters such as the Armstrong’s smoked salmon, the Isle of Mull scallops and the Old Spot belly ribs.
From the grill you can enjoy individual and sharing steaks such as chateaubriand, porterhouse, t-bone, fillet and sirloin. If beef is not your bag then you can tuck into Hake with warm tartare or half a native lobster instead. All grill items are served with a choice of sauces.
Other mains include the house-cured salmon, the charcoal-grilled monkfish and the half-Gartmorn chicken. Veggies can enjoy the spice-roasted cauliflower with IPA raisins, almonds & yoghurt.
Dessert choices could include sticky toffee sundae, blackberry & lemon pavlova and peanut butter shortbread and the Instagram-famous Ambassador’s Reception.
Hawksmoor is bang smack in the city centre on West Register street, just off St Andrew Square and only a one -minute stroll from Waverley train station. Many of Edinburgh’s main attractions are nearby and the Playhouse Theatre is under ten minutes stroll away. Pay parking can be found on nearby Calton Road.
