Bedrooms at Cringletie House Hotel

Each of the twelve bedrooms within Cringletie House Hotel have their own unique size, shape and characteristics, from romantic turrets to feature fireplaces. No two rooms are the same but all have been individually styled to reflect the character and charm of the house. All bedrooms offer wonderful views of the gardens or grounds and rolling hills beyond.

All bedrooms have complimentary mineral water, an ipod docking station and alarm clock, free wifi, flat screen tvs, individually controlled central heating, slippers, Arran Aromatics toiletries, a heated towel rail, tea and coffee facilities, and a hairdryer.

Dining

The Sutherland Restaurant is part of Cringletie House, a Scottish Baronial castle set in 28 acres of grounds. It is a spectacular dining room with a magnificent fireplace, hand painted ceiling and stunning views of the rolling countryside.

Open for lunch, dinner, afternoon tea and Sunday lunch, The Sutherland Restaurant uses local Borders produce to produce superb dishes. The menus change with the seasons but typical starters might be pan roasted crown of quail or warm oak-smoked haddock cake.

The Scottish sourcing is evident in main courses like the roast loin of Highland venison with haunch pudding or the baked fillet of salmon with prawns in brick pastry. The Sunday lunch menu offers classic a main of roast side of borders beef with all the trimmings or the Castlebay lemon and cracked black pepper scampi.

They also have a seperate vegetarian available.

A separate bar and lounge in the hotel offers an extensive range of whiskies, cocktails and other drinks. The hotel’s Maguire Room hosts afternoon tea, morning coffee with the papers, and pre-dinner drinks. Their conservatory has an almost 360 degree view of the garden and is used for evening entertaining. In summer it is the gateway to the tables on the lawn where the hotel serves teas, lunch and drinks.

Grounds

Cringletie House Hotel is set within 28 acres of grounds of sweeping manicured lawns, acres of mature woodland, Highland cows, a pitch and putt course and their famous walled garden with its 400 year old yew hedge, reputed to be the oldest in Scotland.

The acres also include a river, waterfall, croquet lawn, children’s play area with climbing frame and trampoline, and vegetable patches where the hotel freshly picks its flowers and some food items to be served in the restaurant.

Guests at Cringletie House Hotel will find a wealth of things to do in the local area, such as walking, mountain biking, canoeing, golf and fishing.

The region has many places of interest, such as the market town of Peebles just a few minutes drive away, Rosslyn Chapel made famous by the book The Da Vinci Code, and Scotland’s Capital Edinburgh which is a 30 minute drive away.
