  Everything about this restaurant is excellent staff very friendly best bit is you can byob which saves you a lot of money as drink very expensive in restaurants this was my second visit within a month will definitely be returning.

  Al Sultans

  This place couldn’t be faulted from my first visit. I decided to go again because of the great service, food and portions we received the first time. I have to say that I was sadly disappointed with the restaurant having decreased the portion sizes from the first time I went. The rice and chips were very dissatisfactory, I wouldn’t even say one portion of each would’ve done me, and no chance to share (I’m not even the biggest eater). The curry portions were fine, and naan too, they also were cooked great, tasted great and hot too. For a tip on how to improve service, don’t watch over your customers whilst they eat and wait for them to finish, too quick to jump in and take away the plates, this may be a personal preference however I feel it is much more professional to have a balance between this, all too often I could feel the waiters standing over me waiting to take away the plates, felt a little pressured, just wanted to relax and enjoy it without stopping for a second and worrying that the waiters were going to come over and take away my plates, which they did with the chicken pakora side. I would be happy to go back to this restaurant so long as the points were taken on board.

Comfort curries

Dishes can change, but expect classic starters such as vegetable and chicken pakora; garlic mushrooms, spicy lentil soup and seekh kebab.

The curry range features favourites like masala, korma, chasni and bhoona, as well as speciality South Indian dishes. Both chicken and veggie options are available. Tikkas include chicken, lamb, prawns or king prawns.

Handily located between Hillhead and Kelvinbridge undergrounds, Sultan’s is just a stroll away from both the Botanical Gardens and Glasgow University. You can find pay parking nearby on Lilybank Gardens.
