Great meal with real flavours and attention to detail. Simply menu but the food is excellent and corn bread is fab.

Lovely place. Great music and atmosphere was very laid back and the staff were wonderful. Talked us through the menu and were very attentive making sure we were enjoying our meal. Macaroni cheese and chicken tenders for starters were delicious then the steak and wedges were amazing. Already recommended to many of our friends and family.

Po’Boyz American Diner and Grill serves southern soul food inspired by New Orleans. The address may be Broomhill Shopping Centre but the food is rooted in the Cajun culinary traditions of the southern United States. The decor is simple with booth seating, a recycled wooden bar and a mural that tells the tale of how the po’boy sandwich came into being.
Naturally, the po’boys submarine sandwiches are prominent on the menu at Po’Boyz American Diner and Grill. Filled with pulled pork, chicken, beef brisket, prawns or veggies, they are made from freshly baked ciabatta. The menu also offers a range of burgers, hot dogs and the chance to design your own pizza. Dixie battered catfish and chips, buffalo wings, ribs in BBQ sauce and slow cooked chicken jostle for attention with a Creole jambalaya and gumbo – the famous New Orleans stew.
If you have a sweet tooth then you will love the shakes which are flavoured with Bounty Bars, Kit Kats and Oreos, among others. Alternatively, tuck into a dessert like the deep-fried cheesecake and, of course, the apple pie and ice cream. The restaurant does not currently have a licence to serve alcohol, however please feel free to bring your own bottle (corkage fee £3).
Po’Boyz American Diner and Grill is in Broomhill Shopping Centre on Norby road. There is parking at the centre and the nearest train station is Hyndland. Local attractions include Victoria Park. The Riverside Museum and The Tall Ship are a short drive away.
