Still having turkey flashbacks?
Dig in to today’s Big Deal and you can say ‘Toodle-pip!’ to the turkey and ‘Buongiorno!’ to a delicious Italian meal for two at the two Amore Ristorantes in the Merchant City and on Alexandra Parade in Dennistoun.
Since launching in 2008, these family-run restaurants have wowed customers with their friendly service, romantic décor and authentic Italian food.
Available from noon to 10pm, Monday to Thursday, this offer is for two people to have a starter and a main course from the a la carte menu at either Amore Ristorante in the Merchant City or Dennistoun.
A glass of Prosecco, included in the offer, will help make your meal that little bit more bubby.
There is a £6 supplement payable on veal or steak dishes.
Amore has an extensive menu that covers everything from classic pasta and pizza dishes to seafood choices, burgers and, for those making a healthy start to 2015, even salads.
Many diners like to start their Amore experience with the antipasto platter of cured meats, cheese, olives and char grilled vegetables; the mussels in a tomato and herb sauce with garlic bread or the ever popular bruschetta.
When it comes to main courses, lots of people choose the king prawns in garlic, chilli, olive oil, white wine, cherry tomatoes and lemon juice.
Other favourites include the calzone filled with salami, ham, parmesan, mushrooms, basil, tomato sauce and fior di latte cheese or the pollo al pepe – breast of chicken fillets flamed in brandy and cooked in a creamy peppercorn sauce.
At the time of writing, over 380 customers have rated Amore Ristorante as ‘Excellent’ on TripAdvisor. This is what a recent diner had to say:
‘First class place to eat. Visited here many times and have never been disappointed. Brilliant atmosphere with lots of hustle and bustle.’
The early months of the year can seem chilly. This Big Deal with Amore in the Merchant City is the perfect way to warm up.
With the restaurant just a hop, skip and a jump from the Old Fruitmarket, this Big Deal would also be ideal for any keen to enjoy a pre-gig bite before a Celtic Connections show.
