Did you know that there are two Australian Glencoes; three Canadian ones and that New Zealand and South Africa have one each? The United States has about two dozen.
We’re sure they are all lovely but not a patch on the Scottish original. Take up today’s Big Deal on a one night getaway at the Isles of Glencoe Hotel and you can enjoy the beautiful Highland setting that inspired imitators around the world.
Dinner and wine
The deal is for two people to enjoy a relaxing one night stay in a standard twin or double room at the Isles of Glencoe Hotel. Included in the deal are a bottle of house wine to share plus a three course dinner and full Scottish breakfast for each guest.
Stunning setting
A friendly, family-oriented venue, the Isles of Glencoe Hotel and Leisure Centre is a modern hotel nestled on the side of a peninsula that reaches into Loch Leven.
All the rooms are comfortable and spacious with commanding views of the loch or the mountains of Morven.
Many of the rooms boast patio doors leasing out to the loch side – particularly popular with dog owners.
Local produce
The three course dinner menu changes daily to reflect the availability of the best local produce. Typical dishes might be the roast leg of lamb with a red wine and rosemary sauce; the seafood pie or the roast chicken breast with a spicy peppercorn cream sauce.
The only distraction from your plate may be the dramatic views from the restaurant which look out over the loch to the mountains of Glencoe.
Leisure centre
As well as a complimentary round of golf at the nearby Dragon’s Tooth Golf Course, guests are welcome to use the hotel’s leisure centre and its facilities which include an indoor heated pool, hydro-seat, bio-sauna and exercise room.
The surrounding countryside offers a wealth of day trip possibilities from castle to distilleries as well as easy or challenging hill walks, golf and adventure sports. Glencoe Mountain Resort is a short drive away if fancy carving up the pistes.
