Local produce

As far as is possible, Cherub’s Restaurant  serves dishes based on local and seasonal produce.

Set amidst the fertile farmland of Aberdeenshire and with a thriving local Farmer’s Market, the hotel’s kitchen likes to use locally sourced fresh meat and produce which can often be traced back to the original farmer.

Popular dishes include the pan-roasted chicken breast, with a mushroom and whisky sauce; the sticky belly pork served with apricot and thyme gravy and the Munro burger, a 6oz beef burger served in a brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, red onion and mayonnaise.

The Kintore Arms Hotel, or KA as it is affectionately known, is an integral part of the local community and has a number of public areas for guests and locals alike to frequent.

The traditional Crombie Lounge bar is always popular – especially on colder nights when the coal fire is particularly appealing.

‘Comfortable… the welcome we received was excellent. The staff went out of their way to help us with our luggage. Our room wasn’t ready so they offered us tea or coffee while waiting. The hotel is dated but everything is clean and tidy… the rooms are clean and comfortable and the water is hot… service was very good and the food was excellent… Breakfast was also delicious. I think they have a secret Michelin chef.’

‘Excellent staff. I have stayed a couple of times. Staff make the Kintore Arms. Bedding is lovely and fresh, room very clean. Could do with being upgraded but the price paid reflects this. The staff are excellent. Breakfast is lovely, choice of full cooked breakfast which I would recommend… I would recommend staying at this hotel if you want a good night’s sleep, excellent staff, great breakfast and a comfy bed.’

The Kintore Arms Hotel is an excellent base from which to explore Aberdeenshire and the Grampians. Close to Inverurie are the New Seat stone circle and Easter Aquhorthies – examples of third millennium BC monuments.
Other notable local attractions include Fraser Castle, Fyvie Castle and the Loch of Strathbeg, a wildlife Special Protection Area.

There are many fine golf courses in the area and the Cairngorms National Park is a 40 minute drive.
