  I bought a 5pm deal for a 4 course lunch with champagne for my friend's birthday. I love Hotel du Vin and was looking forward to it. However, the whole occasion was spoilt when we were presented with a bill at the end (£25) for vegetables and coffee. When the waitress asked us to choose our vegetables, she made it sound like they were included, ditto the coffee. The total bill of £64 made it a rather expensive birthday present and spoiled the occasion. We did query it after I had paid the bill and the waiter asked us if we wanted to see if the management would refund it, but he never came back and after a waiting a while, we just left.
