    I booked the champagne lunch for two and we were really looking forward to visiting 1 Devonshire Gardens. The bar is lovely and the champagne was so good we ordered a bottle. Service was very friendly and attentive - no stuffiness at all. Food was OK but not outstanding; creamed polenta & salmon pleasant. Disappointed in the dining room - I felt there was no real atmosphere; just a long, dark room with no outstanding features & poor lighting.
