A compact and friendly café bar, Abarcromby & Food is on Dumbarton Road, close to Kelvinhall subway station. Stripped brick walls and smart banquette seating give it a contemporary feel. Good food, good drinks and good company is what Abarcromby & Food sets out to offer. Open from 11am until late evening, seven days a week, Abarcromby & Food is perfect for a lunchtime sandwich and drink or an evening meal with friends.
As well as daily specials written on the wall-mounted blackboards, Abarcromby & Food offers a menu of Scottish and Italian favourites, cooked to order. This could mean starters such as Cullen skink soup; Stornoway topped with a tattie scone and poached egg or goat’s cheese tart.
The main course options include roast beef with all the trimmings; Balmoral chicken; Scottish steak pie and a range of pasta that includes lasagne, seafood and mac ‘n’ cheese made with Lockerbie cheddar. For a lighter meal, guests can choose from a selection of fillings on a baguette or ciabatta and served as a panini or toastie.
Abarcromby & Food is at the Byres Road end of Dumbarton Road in Glasgow’s West End. The nearest subway station is Kelvinhall and the nearest train station is at Partick. The city centre is around a five minute drive. There is limited pay parking in the area. Local attractions include Kelvinhall, Kelvingrove Park and Museum.
